First Road Game Ever: Mets 8 Rangers 4

For the first time in my four years of coaching the Mets had a road game. Teams from HAP played teams from the Prestonsburg league at Stone Crest. The Mets played a good game beating the Rangers by four runs. For the moms, the best part was no one had to work the concession stand.

So much for being excited with the win.

Hitters of the game: Grant, Jaxon, Laken, and Bradyn each had three hits. Kyle, Byron, and Hunter had two hits apiece. Instead of getting a hit, Aaron got hit(by his coach). Sorry Aaron.

Byron picking up his 3rd base coach as he approaches 2nd. Just like he's suppose to.

Fielding plays of the game: Kayla made a good stop at second and threw to Jaxon but the speedy runner was able to beat the throw. Laken and Hunter each made good stops in the outfield and got it back to the infield very quickly. Byron made a stop and tagged third for an out. Byron also made a stop and threw all the way to first and Jaxon caught it. The runner was called safe but, from where I was, it looked like the throw barely beat the runner. It was a great play anyway. Grant made a couple of good stops but the best was when he whirled and threw to Kyle at second base for the out. Very impressive. Jaxon made a stop and got the out at first. Kyle got three or four outs himself by running to the base or tagging the runner.

Post-game talk

Angie, dugout mom and bookkeeper.

The coaching staff. Donnie, me, and Brad. Breck did make it for the finish.

By the way, I was just kidding about asking Breck to give them a pre-game pep talk Friday night . Everyone was telling jokes during the rain delay. I wish we could have gotten a video of them all.

See everyone Monday night.
